Myla is a recent graduate from Williams College, where she majored in English. While at Williams, she became very involved in college prep through the program Matriculate, where she advised low income, high achieving high school students through the entirety of the college process. This experience gave her in-depth knowledge on the intricacies of college advising, from building a balanced college list to writing a compelling personal statement. Myla’s work at Matriculate made her passionate about supporting students and helping them build confidence in their own unique voices.
Myla centers human connection in all of her advising relationships and believes that successful mentorships must be built on a foundation of trust and understanding, values she is excited to continue embracing at Testive.
At Williams, Myla also became involved in multiple other educational programs, developing social justice curriculum for a Massachusetts school district as well being rewarded the Sentinels Research Fellowship, which allowed her to continue her curricular work as well as connect with local superintendents, principals, and teachers through surveys and interviews.
Outside of college advising, Myla loves fiction writing and has a goal one day of publishing a book! She can often be found in a coffee shop near her apartment, typing away quickly on her laptop, fueling both her love for fiction and caffeine. She can also be found cooking up delicious new recipes, pumping iron in the gym, or cozied up with a good book.
