Webinar Leader Kate Manire

Kate Manire considers college advising a perfect synthesis of her passions: mentorship and writing.
An undergraduate and graduate admissions advisor since 2012, she has helped hundreds of students get into their dream schools, including Cornell, Swarthmore, NYU, Vanderbilt, Northwestern, Johns Hopkins, and many more. Kate is passionate about mentoring bright young students and helping them write about their passions, including robotics, engineering, physics, math, theater, art, and social justice. Central to her practice is pushing students to delve deeper into their personal narratives and finding their core values and interests, yielding authentic, compelling essays.
When she’s not helping her student craft their best application narratives, Kate is a painter in Brooklyn. She watches more trashy TV than she’d care to admit, and given an opening, she will probably tell you about her one-eyed cat, Sammy.

Excellent help for brainstorming…

"I needed help brainstorming for a few college essays and was amazed by the quality of the help I received from Testive! My teacher was very efficient and patient and I was able to submit everything on time! Shout out Kate she’s the best! Keep up the great work!"

“With Rachel's support, Ellison was accepted to 11 of the 14 schools to which she applied including Columbia, USC, Northwestern, and Wesleyan. Rachel was Ellison's cheerleader, helping her process the disappointments and celebrate her successes. And when it came to the grind of churning out essays, her edits were always timely and insightful -- and, brilliantly, the summer before, she had worked with Ellison to develop a collection of personal stories, representing Ellison's successes and values, so that Ellison could easily relate a personal story in response to almost any prompt she encountered -- which would reinforce the theme of her personal narrative. And it worked, the proof is in the high number of acceptance letters!"
